Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of the number of women who benefitted from the Nai Roshni Scheme for leadership development among minority women during each of the last three years and the current year, community-wise, State-wise including Rajasthan;

(b) the details of organizations that are implementing the objectives of the scheme in various States including Rajasthan;

(c) whether the Government has undertaken any kind of evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the Nai Roshni scheme; and 

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the steps taken by the Government in this regard and to ensure that the scheme is properly implemented?

(a) The details of the number of women who benefited from the “Nai- Roshni” Scheme for Leadership Development among Minority Women during each of last three years and the current year, community wise, state-wise including Rajasthan are at AnnexureI

(b) The details of Organizations that are implementing the objectives of the scheme at present in various states including Rajasthan are at Annexure II

(c) and (d)Yes, Madam. The implementation of the Scheme “Nai- Roshni”- Leadership Development of Minority Women was started in 2012-13. Hi-Tech Institute of Information Technology (HIIT) was engaged for ‘Baseline Survey’ for the Scheme. While submitting its report in the year 2014-15, it evaluated the ongoing scheme also. The report mentioned that there has been positive impact of leadership training in terms of sensitization and awareness towards gender issues, leadership development, educational empowerment, active role in decision making process, increased social status and recognition, effective delivery of services and enhanced role in implementation of development programmes.
