Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government has taken any steps under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in providing Central Assistance to the North Eastern Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) except Mizoram;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the details of distribution made to the State/UT Governments under the Housing for All (Urban) Mission; and
(c) the reforms that the Government plans to make in order to settle the problem of coordination between the Centre and the State?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION
( RAO INDERJIT SINGH)
(a): The Government is providing central assistance to implementing agencies through States and UTs for providing houses to all eligible families/beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) - Housing for All (Urban) Mission.
(b): The details of central assistance provided to the States/UTs under the scheme is at Annexure.
(c): From time to time this Ministry is conducting workshops with the
States/UTs to ensure coordination among the Centre and the States. A two days’ workshop under PMAY(Urban) was held at Guwahati for North Eastern States on 15th and 16th July, 2016.
