Question raised in Loksabha regarding factual details of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin)
Factual details of States/UTs wise, Nos. of households reported as houseless household in rural areas, Funds Allocated, Released and Utilised under PMAY-G in the year 2016-17, No. of houses constructed under PMAY-G in 2016-17, Additional Targets under PMAY (Gramin) for Financial Year 2016-17, Targets for three years (2016-17 to 2018-19) under PMAY-G.
Question raised in Loksabha :
(a) the number of homeless families in rural areas of the country, State/UT-wise;
(b) the criteria for selection of families under Pradhan Mantri Awas YojanaGrameen (PMAY-G) along with the per unit assistance provided to the families under the scheme;
(c) the funds allocated, released and spent under the scheme since its launching, State/UT-wise and year-wise;
(d) the number of villages covered under the scheme and the number of houses built under this scheme so far, State/UT-wise;
(e) whether the Government proposes to increase the number of houses to be built under the scheme so as to cover more homeless people in rural areas and if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise; and
(f) the time frame fixed by the Government to provide houses for all the needy people particularly for BPL families and the concrete steps proposed to be taken thereon including any new scheme in the pipeline for the same, State/UT-wise?

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:-
(a) the number of homeless families in rural areas of the country, State/UT-wise;
(b) the criteria for selection of families under Pradhan Mantri Awas YojanaGrameen (PMAY-G) along with the per unit assistance provided to the families under the scheme;
(c) the funds allocated, released and spent under the scheme since its launching, State/UT-wise and year-wise;

(a): Statement is given at Annexure-I.
(b): The beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) comprise of all houseless households and households living in zero/one/two room houses with kutcha roof and kutcha wall as per SECC 2011, subject to exclusion criteria, and as verified by Gram Sabha.
The unit assistance under PMAY-G is Rs. 1.20 lakh in plain areas and Rs. 1.30 lakh in hilly States, difficult areas including IAP districts. Besides this, 90/95 days unskilled labour wage under MGNREGS and Rs. 12,000 from Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) or any other dedicated financial sources for construction of toilet is also made available over and above the unit assistance.
(c): PMAY-G was formally launched on 20.11.2016. A statement is at Annexure-II.
(d): PMAY-G is implemented in the rural areas of the country and covers all villages having eligible beneficiaries. A statement indicating house constructed under PMAY-G during the year 2016-17 is at Annexure-III.
(e): The Ministry has increased the targets for the current financial year by 33%. State/UT-wise detail is at Annexure-IV.
(f): To meet the target of “Housing for All by 2022”, in the first phase (from 2016-17 to 2018-19) one crore houses are targeted for construction under PMAY-G. State-wise/UT-wise targets are at Annexure-V.
