Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government had launched a new scheme Swachhta Udyami Yojana during the year 2014;
(b) if so, the details and the salient features thereof;
(c) the projects/activities under the scheme, State-wise including Tamil Nadu;
(d) whether any proposals for financial assistance have been received by the Government under the scheme;
(e) if so, the details thereof, State-wise including Tamil Nadu along with the purpose for which financial assistance has been sought; and
(f) the action being taken by the Government on the said proposals, State-wise?

(a): Yes, Madam, National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC) launched a new Scheme viz. “Swachhta Udyami Yojana” on 2nd October, 2014.
(b): The scheme has two components: a) Construction, Operation and Maintenance of Pay and Use Community Toilets in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and b) Operation of Sanitation related Vehicles by Safai Karamcharis and liberated Manual Scavengers.
The salient features of the schemes are given below :
(1) Loans to individual beneficiaries/self-help groups through State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs)/Nationalised Banks (NBs)/Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) upto a maximum of Rs.25 lakhs for setting up of a unit of 10 seater toilet.
(2) Loans to Manual Scavengers, Safai Karamcharis and their dependents through State Channelizing Agencies(SCAs)/ Nationalised Banks(NBs)/Regional Rural Banks(RRBs) upto a maximum of Rs.15 Lakhs for Purchase of Garbage Trucks, Suction and Jetting Machine, Vacuum Loader etc.
(c) to (f) : Details of project for which proposals have been received, amounts sanctioned and disbursed State-wise are given at Annexure.
No proposal has been received from Tamil Nadu.
