Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to state:-
(a) the State-wise and sector-wise details of total number of apprentices enrolled under the scheme so far;
(b) the details of total amount of stipend reimbursement done under the programme so far; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to ensure that the prescribed stipend is paid to the employees?
ANSWER
(a) The State-wise details of total number of apprentices enrolled under the scheme so far is given in Annexure-I.
(b) The details of total amount of stipend reimbursed under the programme so far is given at Annexure-II.
(c) Under the Apprentices Act, 1961, apprentices are trainees not employees. Regional Directors of Apprenticeship Training and State Apprenticeship Advisers ensure that apprentices are being paid prescribed stipend by employers.
