(a) whether recently the Union Cabinet approved revamped Khelo India programme that aims at mainstreaming sports as tool for individual development, community development, economic development and national development;
(b) if so, the provisions for nurturing sports talent salient features of the programme including the procedure for the selection of sports persons under it;
(c) the total amount earmarked for the programme and details of financial assistance for the selected candidates and other benefits to be given to the players;
(d) whether the Government has received any DPRs for the construction of stadiums in the country including at Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan; and
(e) if so, the current status of the above said DPRs?

Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:-
(a) whether recently the Union Cabinet approved revamped Khelo India programme that aims at mainstreaming sports as tool for individual development, community development, economic development and national development;
(b) if so, the provisions for nurturing sports talent salient features of the programme including the procedure for the selection of sports persons under it;
(c) the total amount earmarked for the programme and details of financial assistance for the selected candidates and other benefits to be given to the players;
(d) whether the Government has received any DPRs for the construction of stadiums in the country including at Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan; and

(a) Yes, Madam.
(b) and (c) The relevant provisions for nurturing sports talent under the Khelo India Scheme, including selection procedure, amount earmarked for this purpose and financial assistance and other benefits to be given to the selected candidates are given at Annexure – I.
(d) & (e) Yes, Madam. DPRs for construction of stadia have been received in this Ministry. However, no stadium has been sanctioned to any State/UT, including Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, under the Khelo India Scheme.
