(a) whether the Government has launched Tele-Law scheme with Common Service Centres (CSCs) to provide legal aid to the poor across the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the total number of CSCs established by the Government under this scheme; and
(c) the total number of poor who benefitted through CSCs from the initiation of the Tele-Law scheme, State-wise?

(a) Yes, Madam 
(b) In April, 2017, the Government had launched Tele-law scheme to provide free legal advice through Common Service Centres (CSC) in 1,800 gram panchayats in 11 States of the country. Under this scheme, the Government is using the existing CSCs established in the States by CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd. The scheme aims to provide legal advice to persons of marginalized sections of the society as mentioned in Section 12 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 by panel lawyers provided by State Legal Services Authorities and CSC-e-Governance India Limited, through video conferencing and telephone. As on 13.07.2018, 24,855 persons have registered for seeking advice in the Tele-law portal, and legal advice has been provided in 21,731 cases out of 24,855 registered. These cases pertains to civil matters, criminal matters, family, matrimonial and succession matters, land acquisition/property disputes.
(c) The State-wise details of number of persons belonging to marginalized and vulnerable sections of the society who have benefitted from Tele-law service, as on 13.07.2018, is attached as Annexure-A.
