(a) whether the Government is implementing the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme in 48 cities in Maharashtra including Mumbai;
(b) if so, the details of activities carried out under the scheme so far in all the cities specially Mumbai;
(c) the quantum of funds sanctioned for these projects; and
(d) whether any time frame has been fixed to complete these projects and if so, the details thereof?

(a) whether the Government is implementing the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme in 48 cities in Maharashtra including Mumbai;

(b) if so, the details of activities carried out under the scheme so far in all the cities specially Mumbai;

(c) the quantum of funds sanctioned for these projects; and

(d) whether any time frame has been fixed to complete these projects and if so, the details thereof?

ANSWER

THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS

(SHRI HARDEEP SINGH PURI)

(a). Government of India is implementing Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) in 44 selected Mission cities of Maharashtra, including Navi Mumbai and Greater Mumbai.

(b) & (c). For the State of Maharashtra, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has approved State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) amounting to ?7,759.32 crore, including committed Central Assistance of ?3,534.08 crore under AMRUT. The State of Maharashtra has taken up projects amounting to ?7,798.49 crore, which is in excess of the approved SAAPs. The additional cost of the projects will be borne by the State.

Under the Mission, State Government of Maharashtra has taken up 40 projects costing ?4,353 crore in the water supply sector, 31 projects costing ?3,173 crore in Sewerage and Septage Management sector, 1 project worth ?94 crore for Storm Water Drainage and 128 projects costing ?179 crore in the Parks & Green Spaces sector. City-wise details of projects taken up in Maharashtra is placed as Annexure.

(d). The State of Maharashtra has envisaged to complete the projects within the Mission period i.e. by 31stMarch, 2020.
