Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:-
(a) the current progress of the PradhanMantriBharatiya Jan AushadhiPariyojana (PMBJP) alongwith the schemes being evolved for its expansion in future;
(b) the type of medicines and the number of diseases for which medicines are being made available for sale through the PMBJP; and
(c) the number of centres opened in Rajasthan so far including Dausa district?
ANSWER
The point-wise information is as under:
(a) Under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), about 6,601 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) are functional across the country as on 10.09.2020. A target of opening 10,500 PMBJKs by March 2025 across the country has been fixed. The Government has approved for continuation of the scheme with a budget of Rs. 490 crore for the period 2020-2021 to 2024-2025. The amount of incentives to Kendra owners has been increased from existing Rs. 2.5 lakh to up to Rs. 5 lakh to be given @ 15% of monthly purchases made from the Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI) by these PMBJKs subject to a ceiling of Rs. 15,000/- per month. Further, one-time incentive of Rs. 2.00 lakh is to be provided to the stores being opened in the aspirational districts, north-eastern states or by women/ divyang/ weaker sections of the society. The Government has also decided to include AYUSH products, especially Ayurvedic medicines in the product basket of PMBJP.
(b) The product basket of PMBJP comprises of 1,250 medicines and 204 surgical & consumables covering all 37 major therapeutic groups such as Anti-infectives, Anti-allergic, Anti-diabetics, Cardiovascular, Anti-cancers, Gastro-intestinal medicines, Nutraceuticals, etc.
(c) As on 10.09.2020, 138 PMBJK have been opened in the State of Rajasthan, out of which one PMBJK is opened in the Dausa District.
