Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of number of all weather roads in kilometres constructed in the country till date under the Bharat NirmanYojana (BNY), State/UT-wise including Bihar; and

(b) the funds allocated and spent for the purpose during the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise including Bihar?

(a): Bharat Nirman was a time bound plan focussing on irrigation, drinking water, electrification, roads, housing and rural telephony, from the period 2005 to 2012. Rural roads is one of the six components of Bharat Nirman. New Connectivity length and upgradation length including renewal length of rural roads constructed under the Bharat NirmanState/UT-wise including Bihar,is given as per Annexure – I.

(b): Rural road component of Bharat Nirman was undertaken under Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY). No separate funds were released earmarked for Bharat Nirman.The Bharat Nirman activities were undertaken from the regular programme funds of PMGSY. The funds released in the Programme Fund and Expenditure incurred during the last three years and current year State/ UT-wise including Bihar, under PMGSY are given as per Annexure – II.
