(a) the total investment made and number of houses constructed so far in the Country under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) specially in Uttar Pradesh and the details thereof; 

(b) whether the Government has approved an additional investment for construction of affordable houses for urban poor under the PMRAY during the first four months for this financial year and if so, the details theroef; 
(c) the number of urban poor who will be benefited along with the name of the States that will receive these funds; 

(d) whether the Government has approved for construction of these houses under three components of the urban housing mission and if so, the details thereof; and 

(e) the details of other steps taken by the Government to provide affordable houses to all urban poor in the country in a time bound manner?

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION be pleased to state:

(a) the total investment made and number of houses constructed so far in the Country under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) specially in Uttar Pradesh and the details thereof; 

(b) whether the Government has approved an additional investment for construction of affordable houses for urban poor under the PMRAY during the first four months for this financial year and if so, the details theroef; 
(c) the number of urban poor who will be benefited along with the name of the States that will receive these funds; 

(d) whether the Government has approved for construction of these houses under three components of the urban housing mission and if so, the details thereof; and 

(e) the details of other steps taken by the Government to provide affordable houses to all urban poor in the country in a time bound manner?


ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING & URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION
(RAO INDERJIT SINGH)

(a): As on 10.11.2016, central assistance of Rs. 6172.03 crores have been released and total 48,236 houses have been constructed across the country under all verticals of PMAY (U) Mission including Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) which has been subsumed under PMAY (U). State-wise details are attached at Annexure-1. 
No project proposals have so far been received in this Ministry from the State Government of Uttar Pradesh under centrally sponsored components of the PMAY (U) Mission. However, central assistance of Rs. 136.56 crores have been released and 3,033 houses have been constructed under central sector component viz. Credit Link Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) & RAY in the State of Uttar Pradesh. 

(b) & (c): During first four months of the FY 2016-17, central share of Rs. 3693.91 crores have been accepted for construction of 247,066 houses under all verticals of the PMAY (U) Mission. State-wise details are attached at Annexure-2.

(d): As on 10.11.2016, central assistance of Rs. 3,749.43 crores have been accepted for construction of 10,71,869 houses across the country under the three verticals, excluding Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) component, of the PMAY (U) Mission. State-wise details are at Annexure-3.

(e): Apart from implementation of the PMAY-HFA (U) Mission, a Technology Sub-Mission has been set up in partnership with IITs, NITs and Planning & Architecture Institutes for fast & efficient construction of houses and adoption of modern, innovative, disaster-resistant & green technologies & materials. This Ministry has been emphasising the States/UTs for fast tracking of Reforms envisaged under the Mission. This Ministry reviews and monitors the progress regularly through Central Sanctioning & Monitoring Committee (CSMC). 
This Ministry has been consistently pursuing and handholding the States/UTs to enable them to prepare, approve and implement the PMAY (U) Mission.
A series of National & Regional workshops at Centre and State level workshop at States focussed on implementation of PMAY (U) Mission has been organised to spread awareness among various stakeholders across the country.
