ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS
(RAO INDERJIT SINGH)

(a) & (b): The details of the houses constructed for urban poor including SC/ST and people below poverty line in the country under schemes of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY (U)] and Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) (subsumed in PMAY-U) during the last three years, year-wise, State/Union Territory-wise are at Annexure-I, II & III respectively. Under PMAY (U), the Ministry considers admissible central assistance on per house basis as per the scheme guidelines for the project proposals approved by the concerned States/UTs as per their housing requirement based on their demand assessment to fulfill the Government’s vision under the mission Housing for All by the year 2022.

As informed by the Ministry of Rural Development, the erstwhile Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) has been restructured into Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) effective from 1 April, 2016 to fulfill the Government’s commitment to provide Housing for All by 2022. In the initial phase of PMAY-G, one crore houses are to be constructed in three years from 2016-17 to 2018-19. As per Framework for Implementation of PMAY-G, at least 60% of targets allocated to States/UTs should be earmarked for SC/STs subject to availability of eligible beneficiaries. The details of the houses sanctioned for SC/STs and houses constructed under PMAY-G during the last three years, year-wise, State/Union Territory-wise are at Annexure- IV & V respectively as provided by the Ministry of Rural Development.
