(a) whether a large number of companies pledged support to apprenticeship training for Skill India Mission under the National Apprenticeship Programme Scheme (NAPS):
(b) if so, the details of total companies presently supporting and total number of companies which have pledged to support the endeavor;
(c) whether the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is extended to the Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) whether the Ministry has taken steps to cover each district of the country by opening of one Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) and if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER
(a) & (b) Yes Madam. A large number of companies/establishments have pledged to support apprenticeship training for Skill India Mission under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).There are 32804 companies/establishments registered on the apprenticeship portal under NAPS. Approximately 1000 establishments had pledged support to NAPS at a function held in New Delhi.
(c) & (d) NAPS has been extended to Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector. 16 courses have been approved under NAPS for the BFSI sector as optional trades and 109 apprentices are undergoing apprenticeship training.
(e) Ministry is working towards creation of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) in every district of India. National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is the implementation agency for the project. As on 2nd August, 2017, 556 PMKKs have been allocated across 514 districts, out of which 223 PMKKs have been established.
