Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana breaks new ground, achieves major milestones
Affordable 'Housing for All' has been one of the major thrust areas of the Government led by PM Narendra Modi. The government has been working tirelessly to give shape to the commitment of providing every family a pucca house by 2022. The progress so far ascertains that this dream is surging towards becoming a reality at a rapid pace.
- Out of the sanctioned total of 30.76 lakh houses, 15.65 lakh houses are under-construction.
- 4.13 lakh houses have been constructed since the launch of the mission.
- Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs approved the construction of 1,12,083 more affordable houses for the benefit of urban poor.
- The outlay is Rs. 8,105 crore with central assistance of Rs. 1,681 crore.
- Under the new directive Madhya Pradesh gets 34, 680 houses, Haryana - 24,221, Maharashtra-11,523.
