Starred Question in Loksabha regarding Atal Pension Yojana
(a) the number of subscribers under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) in the country including Assam, State/UT-wise;
(b) whether the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has managed to open 103,000 accounts under APY in a few States in the country and if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise along with the extent to which APY has been successful in other States;
(c) the total number of Swavalamban subscribers who have shifted to the APY scheme;
(d) whether there exists a Grievance Redressal Mechanism for subscribers and if so, the details thereof along with the grievances of the subscribers which still remain unresolved; and
(e) whether the Government plans to roll out the scheme in the entire country and if so, the details thereof along with the time by which the plan is proposed to be rolled out?

Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state:-
(a) the number of subscribers under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) in the country including Assam, State/UT-wise;
(b) whether the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has managed to open 103,000 accounts under APY in a few States in the country and if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise along with the extent to which APY has been successful in other States;

STATEMENT OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. *173 FOR ANSWER ON 29.12.2017 REGARDING “ATAL PENSION YOJANA” RAISED BY SHRI R. DHRUVA NARAYANA AND DR. KIRIT P. SOLANKI
(a) to (c): The number of subscribers under Atal Pension Yojana (APY) in the country including Assam, State/UT-wise, as on 20th December, 2017, is 78,42,533. The details are at Annexure A. As on 16th December, 2017, total number of 49, 987 Swavalamban subscribers have migrated to the APY scheme.
(d) As per Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority‘s (PFRDA) circular dated 07.12.2016, APY subscribers are facilitated for smooth registration of grievances online on the portal developed by National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), the Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA). During 2017-18, the number of grievances was 28594, out of which 27625 grievances have been resolved. Further, as on 21.12.2017, 969 grievances are pending with APY-SPs (Atal Pension Yojana - Service Providers).
(e) The APY has been launched by the Government of India in May, 2015 and the registration of subscribers under APY started from June 1, 2015. All Indian Citizens between the age group of 18 to 40 years are eligible to join APY through their savings bank account or post office savings bank account.
