(b) if so, the details thereof along with the funds allocated for it; and

Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-

(a) whether the Government has included Rupsi Airport of Assam in UDAN scheme;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the funds allocated for it; and

(c) the present status of this airport and the time by which it is likely to be ready for civil and defence airline operation and also the reasons for delay, if any?

ANSWER

The Minister of State (IC) in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION 
(Shri Hardeep Singh Puri)

(a) & (b): Yes Sir. The bid was awarded to M/s Turbo Megha Airways Private Limited for connecting Rupsi with Guwahati in Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN. 
;
Airports Authority of India (AAI) has taken up the work for development of Rupsi airport under RCS UDAN scheme and funds for an amount of Rs. 63.36 crore have been allocated, based on the awarded cost to the different executing agencies.

(c): The Airport is expected to be ready by September 2019.
