Social Welfare Schemes in the Country

The schemes of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment are meant for the weaker sections of society, including women. While in some schemes percentage of funds or seats are earmarked for women, some women specific initiatives are as under:

i. The three Corporations under the administrative control of the Ministry have schemes of Mahila Kisan Yojana, Mahila Samriddi Yojana, New Swarnima Yojana and Mahila Adhikarita Yojana.
ii. Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens has a component for 50 elderly senior citizen women under the scheme of Senior Citizen Homes.
